A warming hot stone massage in Leeds City Centre using smooth heated stones to ease muscle tension, calm the mind and support better sleep.
Hot stone massage in Leeds is a deeply relaxing full-body treatment that combines flowing massage strokes with smooth, heated basalt stones placed on key areas of the body. The warmth penetrates muscles to release tension faster than a traditional massage. At Dragonfly Skin Day Spa in Leeds City Centre, our Heated Stone Body Ritual is available as a 60-minute or 90-minute treatment - ideal in colder months, after long-haul travel, or for anyone holding chronic tension.
Our therapists combine flowing massage techniques with the soothing heat of hot stones to create a slow, grounding treatment that eases everyday tension and invites stillness. The warmth allows muscles to soften naturally, making this a deeply relaxing experience for both body and mind.
Our hot stone massage is ideal for anyone seeking a moment of quiet restoration - a peaceful escape where warmth, touch and tranquillity come together to leave you feeling balanced, relaxed and renewed.
Hot stone massage offers a range of physical and mental benefits. The combination of heat and pressure helps ease chronic muscle tension, improve circulation, reduce stress and anxiety, support better sleep, and calm the nervous system. The warmth of the stones allows your therapist to work more deeply with less pressure, making it suitable for people who find traditional deep tissue massage too intense. It's particularly popular in autumn and winter when the body craves warmth, and after periods of high stress or fatigue.
All hot stone massage treatments take place at Dragonfly Skin Day Spa, Unit 7A Central Arcade, Leeds LS1 6DX. Book online via our Schedule Your Visit button or call 0113 244 0388.

Fantastic spa, the atmosphere was really relaxing and our masseuse Tetiana was amazing. Me and my partner both did a massage and the Salt Float, and both were super relaxing. Rhegan met us at the door and was there if we needed anything. The location is ideal in the centre of Leeds, but once inside it's like you're transported to another world. All the products they use are luxurious and the robes and towels were super soft. We would definitely recommend them. They had everything sorted for you so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy.Posted on Google Sami StephensonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A tranquil and lovely hidden escape in the city centre. I had the Hydrafacial, professionally and carefully carried out by Tatiana, and it was a delightful experience. Would highly recommend and will certainly return!Posted on Google Lisa GreeneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My first visit - after some time in hospital , I wanted a relaxing treat and some TLC - this was the perfect choice - a city centre spa day - time out from life's hustle and bustle and felt like I could have been anywhere! Dhruv was so reassuring , I was slightly nervous and he made me feel so calm and relaxed - checking if I was comfortable throughout. Wow what amazing techniques - I had the full body massage and head , scalp and neck treatment - just wonderful. Dhruv was so trusting and I felt very relaxed and the benefits reaped into a blissful evening sleep and relaxed for days following!Posted on Google Anastasiya SuenkovaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hot stone massage is a full-body treatment that uses smooth, heated basalt stones placed on key points of the body and worked over muscles by hand. The warmth helps muscles relax faster than a standard massage, allowing your therapist to work into deeper tension with less pressure.
Our Heated Stone Body Ritual is available as 60 or 90 minutes. Most guests choose 90 minutes for full-body coverage. Allow 10 minutes extra for arrival and consultation.
Hot stone massage at Dragonfly Skin starts from £115 for 60 minutes and £160 for 90 minutes. Gift cards are available, and you can book online or by phone.
The stones are warmed to a comfortable, soothing temperature - typically around 50–55°C. They are warm enough to deeply relax muscles but never hot enough to burn. Your therapist checks the temperature carefully and will ask if you'd prefer slightly cooler stones.
Both are relaxation-focused, but hot stone adds the deep warmth of heated stones, which allows muscles to soften faster and supports a deeper release. Choose Swedish if you want pure relaxation; choose hot stone if you have tension that needs warmth to release, or if you simply enjoy heat-based treatments.
Hot stone uses warmth to ease muscle tension gently. Deep tissue uses firm pressure to release chronic tightness. Many people who find deep tissue too intense prefer hot stone - the heat does much of the work the pressure would otherwise need to.
Hot stone massage suits people with stress-related tension, poor sleep, anxiety, cold extremities, or muscle stiffness and anyone who feels the cold easily or wants extra warmth during their treatment. It's especially popular in autumn and winter.
Hot stone massage is not recommended during pregnancy due to the heat. We offer a dedicated pregnancy massage instead, which uses safe positioning and gentler techniques - please book that treatment if you're expecting.
Hot stone massage is not suitable if you have certain conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes (depending on type and management), recent surgery, varicose veins, skin conditions, or are taking blood thinners. Please mention any health concerns when booking and we'll advise.
Most guests feel deeply relaxed, warm and grounded straight after the treatment. Many sleep particularly well that night. Drink plenty of water afterwards as the heat encourages circulation and the body benefits from hydration.
Arrive 5–10 minutes early. Avoid heavy meals and alcohol beforehand. Tell your therapist about any medical conditions, areas of tension, or temperature preferences at the start of the session. Drink plenty of water before and after.
