Have your body sculpted to proportions and shapes that you’ve always wanted
Maderotherapy, also known as wood therapy, is a form of massage using a variety of wooden handheld tools designed to reach deep tissue and help battling body shape concerns. The usage of wood tools means the therapy is fully holistic and eliminates a possibility of unwanted skin reactions. Since Maderotherapy is a form of massage, you will get advantage of all the benefits of a classic massage, such as relaxation and tension release, plus visibly reduced cellulite and tightened body. Through the vigorous use of the wooden rolling pins and suction cups this technique is a fantastic manual body sculpting method. Maderotherapy will also help remove toxins from your body by draining lymphatic nodes. For maximised results we recommend at least 10-12 monthly sessions, however a single session can also be booked.
EXCELLENT Based on 367 reviews Posted on Olga Grebenkina14 September 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dragonfly Skin Spa is a little gem. The space is beautifully designed with real thought and care, and it feels welcoming from the moment you arrive. The sauna is small but very comfortable – perfect on a cold, damp day, whether you enjoy it dry or with steam from the stones. Floating was a revelation too, like a full reset for body and mind. The massage with Narissa was outstanding – her skilled, caring hands melted away all the tension and left me feeling light and relaxed. Everything is spotless, serene and uplifting. Highly recommended if you’re looking for true relaxation and a touch of luxury.Posted on Zoe Wilkins13 September 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a wonderful experience here as a gift for my birthday. When I got in contact with the spa they were very helpful, and were able to give advice and accommodate any requests I had. I went for the massage and floatation tank deal, and it was incredible. The tank was very relaxing and it was fun to play around in, and my masseuse gave the perfect massage after it. I enjoy getting my back scratched and she was able to do that for me, which was something I’d always wanted in a massage. Overall, everything was perfect, from the lady at the front desk to the beautiful decor and colour scheme. I can definitely recommend this place as a gift or as a treat for yourself, especially if you have any special requests. I will definitely be back. Thank you very much!Posted on Cat Scott8 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent Swedish massage with Tetiana! I visited Dragonfly Skin Day Spa yesterday for a Relaxation Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage, and it was absolutely amazing. My experience started even before I arrived – I was delayed due to a late train, and when I called ahead, the receptionist Jonathan was incredibly kind and reassuring, telling me not to worry and that they’d be ready for me whenever I got there. That really helped ease my stress. The spa itself is beautiful – very modern, peaceful, and spotless. The atmosphere there was friendly and welcoming, which made me feel instantly at ease. My massage therapist Abi was fantastic. The Swedish massage was deeply relaxing, especially the work she did on my back and hands – I could feel the tension melting away. But the Indian Head Massage was the absolute highlight – it was out of this world. I felt so relaxed I actually started to fall asleep! This visit was a birthday gift from my boyfriend, and it truly couldn’t have been more special. I left feeling calm, refreshed, and already planning my next visit. Thank you Abi and Jonathan for making it such a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Dragonfly Spa!Posted on Luke Dickson7 June 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastically relaxing time. Wood therapy, or maderotherapy, is often used to smooth the skin, improve circulation and reduce the look of cellulite. While it can make you feel slimmer and more toned, there’s no scientific proof it actually breaks down fat cells. The results are more about boosting blood flow and firming the skin rather than true fat loss.
Most people notice a difference in how their skin looks and feels after just a few wood therapy sessions – things like less puffiness and a smoother appearance. For longer-lasting results, especially with cellulite, it usually takes a course of treatments over several weeks. Everyone’s body responds a bit differently, so the exact timing can vary, but consistency is key.
Wood therapy isn’t usually painful, but it can feel quite intense, especially in areas where there’s more tension or stubborn cellulite. Most people describe it as a deep, firm massage rather than something uncomfortable. If the pressure feels too strong, it’s always fine to let your therapist know so they can adjust it to suit you.
Yes, wood therapy can support lymphatic drainage. The movements and pressure from the wooden tools help to stimulate circulation and encourage the body’s natural process of moving excess fluid and toxins. This is why many people feel lighter, less puffy and more energised after a session.
